Moynihan Train Hall

New York, NY
WSP Global, Inc.

Empire State Development, Vornado, Related, and WSP Global partnered with Sensory Interactive to realize their vision of a state-of-the-art transportation hub that incorporated digital components to elevate the function and experience of traveling through the hall. The project’s architects (SOM) included a series of digital screens in their initial design. Sensory Interactive provided the tactical expertise to move the project beyond conceptual design.

Our team worked closely with SOM to define the number, type, and location of 175 digital assets, including largescale screens integrated into the hall’s interior, pylons throughout the hall, and other signage that incorporated Passenger Information Displays (PIDs). Our team of skilled project managers developed a tactical plan to work with the vast community of stakeholders involved in this work.

Sensory Interactive also developed a monetization strategy for the 175-display digital network with access to the diverse and valuable group of travelers moving through Moynihan Train Hall. The revenue from the media sales agreements we negotiated and secured on the owner’s behalf more than paid for the investment in digital media in the first year of operations.

Sensory Interactive’s design, monetization strategy, and project management services helped realize a spectacular visual and experiential space while also reaping remarkable financial returns.
